Dear Parents,

We are very pleased to share an interesting upcoming event for our students from Year 1 - 13. The Quran Recitation classes have provided enriched learning experience for our students in order to develop public speaking and Quran recitation skills further, we have organised Quran Competition on Tuesday, 18th April 2023.

To participate, students have to memorise all the Surat as suggested below, for the particular year group.

Year 1: from Surat Az-zalzalah to Surat An-Nas.

Year 2: from Surat Ash-sharh to Surat An-Nas.

Year 3: from Surat Al-‘Ala to Surat An-Nas.

Year 4: from Surat At-Taqweer to Surat An-Nas.

Year 5: The 30th part from The Holy Qur’an.

Year 6: The 30th part from The Holy Qur’an and Surat Ul-mulk

Year 7 to Year 13 will be any Surat of the Quran

Prior to the final competition, all participants will get an opportunity to first present themselves in front of their class, from 10th to 14nd April 2023.

The shortlisted participant will perform on the above-mentioned dates in their respective Islamic lessons.

Handy tips while preparing for Quran recitation:

1. Memorise all the Surat suitable for the age group

2. Use effective voice modulation

3. Practise clear pronunciation

4. No actions or props required

The children will be judged on the criteria of Telawa rules (Recitation rules).
